Pace yourself during a buffet

May ended with a bang and a mini buffet was kicked off in Straits Times Index.

What does a typical Singaporean do during a buffet?

CHIONG AHHHHHHHH

We see aunties uncles sisters and brothers all rushing to the buffet spread and stacking food high up in their plates.

I mean, its buffet right? Cannot be too slow, later lu gi nothing left. Must kiasu a bit.

Pacing yourself
During this period, I've learnt too have self control and pace my eating. During periods of falling prices, some stocks are still great buys and are merely reacting due to fear and herd selling. However, we should still try to get the best price and not catch a falling knife with our bare hands.

Very often, whenever I see stocks on my watch list fall rapidly and hitting my target price, I get very anxious and excited. My mouth gets itchy and I want to accumulate my position.

The lobster just got refilled in the buffet, must chiong before all gone right?

Always ensure your prey is locked in before going for the hunt. And even so, when STI falls for only 3-5%, don't go all in. Always remember to leave some war chest ready for any bigger fights.

Deploy your attacks in tranches, and always pace yourself.

  1. Agreed agreed! Which "buffet items" are you looking at? I think the "yield" section might come out some limited piece items soon!
